Transitional Make Up: Summer to Fall & Day to Night

August 2, 2018Leave a comment

One of the things that I tend to start doing around the first part of August is start incorporating orangey tones into my make up....I think using orange tones is a great way to transition from summer to fall when it comes to your beauty routine!  This is actually a pretty quick look to pull … Continue reading Transitional Make Up: Summer to Fall & Day to Night

MEET TAYLOR

Hi! I’m Taylor, a former dance teacher turned stay-at-home military wifey!  Jesus is my Savior and my Hubby is my best friend.  I love a bold lipstick, dressing up, and messy hair, but I almost can’t make it through a day without a cup of coffee or a little bit of chocolate! Quick Bible Study Tip 🎄🤓 If you read a verse or passage that you’re like “uhhh, wait, what?”, try reading it in a few different translations!
•
There are great apps you can use on your phone for this or you can find actual Bibles that have several translations right next to each other!
•
Not only does this make you re-read, but it may clarify questions you had about the wording or meaning of a verse or passage! •
What’s your favorite translation? I love the CSB (Christian Standard Bible), NIV (New International Version), and the NLT (New Living Translation)! In this age of #girlbosses and #mompreneurs and all of the like, Ephesians 5:22 where wives are called to submit to their husbands can be somewhat....not well received. •
Here’s what I’ve learned. In context, that passage is talking about how a Christ-centered home full of the Holy Spirit should look. Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves the Church (v25). •
Marriage is then talked about as an example of Christ and His Church who He loved so much He died for (v32)! •
Psalm 40:6-8 & Hebrews 10:5-10 show us that Jesus came to do God’s will! So if Jesus came to do God’s will (not His own) and submitted by sacrificing His life for the Church, then submitting to our husbands is making us more like Christ.
•
Willingly placing ourselves under their authority is showing the world a picture of Christ and the church. And they’re called to love us back. What better way to demonstrate the Gospel to a watching world? •
So married girls, instead of resisting this, embrace the opportunity you have! And single girls, don’t feel like this call is going to cramp your style or steal your independence!
•
After all, we are called to follow, and Jesus showed us the ultimate submission example by coming as a baby to this broken, fallen world so many years ago. The Lord has blessed us with the sweetest gift this Christmas! Baby #2 is due in March! We are so thankful! ❤️🎄👼🏼
•
Now Moms with or who have had 2 under 2, PLEASE give me all your advice!!! Lol 😅 I saw a ton of people posting “10 Year Challenge” photos of 2009-2019 recently with messages of what they wish they could say to themselves back then. •
The only thing I would say to myself in 2009 is: SEEK THE LORD MORE. •
Study the Bible more. Actually listen in church more. Immerse yourself with other believers more. Pray more. Praise more. SEEK THE LORD MORE. •
I know my 2009 self could have used this message, and I can use it today too. I don’t want to look back at 2019 in 2029 and want to say it again! •
And if you need to hear it as well, you’re not alone. My goal for 2020 is really simple... to SEEK THE LORD MORE! Drop an emoji if you’re with me! Quick Bible Study Tip 🖇
•
One thing that has really helped me to grasp themes and overall concepts of what the Bible is ACTUALLY saying versus what I want it to say is reading the ENTIRE book of the Bible I’m studying before going back and breaking down the chapters.
•
Doing this has helped me spot more to break down while re-reading and understand more as I dig deeper chapter by chapter because I have developed a framework/overall picture of the book and have better context!
•
What’s something that helps you in your study?! I would love to know! This is how I have spent the majority of the last five days- no make up, in a recliner, holding a sick baby who won’t sleep or really do much of anything if she’s not touching me. •
The other day, I was thinking “I would just give anything I could to make her better.” And God again used a moment of my struggling and frustration to remind my heart of the Gospel.
•
When His children’s hearts were sick with sin, He DID give everything. Jesus came and gave His very life to make us whole and spotless and free! •
So after that little heart check from the Lord, I have been trying to count the blessings in this (see stories) and enjoy the extra snuggles. But we will all take an extra prayer over here if you have a second! 💞
