To the College Girl: 5 Tips & Truths

August 23, 2018Leave a comment

This picture is one of me in college.  With back to school gearing up, I have been thinking a TON about my high school/ college days.  Mostly college.  And while they were so great, there are a few things I wish I could have told myself back when this picture was taken, so I'm sharing … Continue reading To the College Girl: 5 Tips & Truths

MEET TAYLOR

Hi! I’m Taylor, a former dance teacher turned stay-at-home military wifey!  Jesus is my Savior and my Hubby is my best friend.  I love a bold lipstick, dressing up, and messy hair, but I almost can’t make it through a day without a cup of coffee or a little bit of chocolate! My heart for Finding the Fancy is that I can inspire, encourage, and help you find a little more “fancy” in all its forms in your life!

I hope you’ll grab a few of my FREE downlaods below & subscribe to my newsletter to get a little fancy delivered to your Inbox!

The Lord has blessed us with the sweetest gift this Christmas! Baby #2 is due in March! We are so thankful! ❤️🎄👼🏼
•
Now Moms with or who have had 2 under 2, PLEASE give me all your advice!!! Lol 😅 I saw a ton of people posting “10 Year Challenge” photos of 2009-2019 recently with messages of what they wish they could say to themselves back then. •
The only thing I would say to myself in 2009 is: SEEK THE LORD MORE. •
Study the Bible more. Actually listen in church more. Immerse yourself with other believers more. Pray more. Praise more. SEEK THE LORD MORE. •
I know my 2009 self could have used this message, and I can use it today too. I don’t want to look back at 2019 in 2029 and want to say it again! •
And if you need to hear it as well, you’re not alone. My goal for 2020 is really simple... to SEEK THE LORD MORE! Drop an emoji if you’re with me! Quick Bible Study Tip 🖇
•
One thing that has really helped me to grasp themes and overall concepts of what the Bible is ACTUALLY saying versus what I want it to say is reading the ENTIRE book of the Bible I’m studying before going back and breaking down the chapters.
•
Doing this has helped me spot more to break down while re-reading and understand more as I dig deeper chapter by chapter because I have developed a framework/overall picture of the book and have better context!
•
What’s something that helps you in your study?! I would love to know! This is how I have spent the majority of the last five days- no make up, in a recliner, holding a sick baby who won’t sleep or really do much of anything if she’s not touching me. •
The other day, I was thinking “I would just give anything I could to make her better.” And God again used a moment of my struggling and frustration to remind my heart of the Gospel.
•
When His children’s hearts were sick with sin, He DID give everything. Jesus came and gave His very life to make us whole and spotless and free! •
So after that little heart check from the Lord, I have been trying to count the blessings in this (see stories) and enjoy the extra snuggles. But we will all take an extra prayer over here if you have a second! 💞 Just wanted to remind you that Jesus loves you! •
I’ve been reading through Thessalonians, and over and over Paul says that he wants to encourage and strengthen the church there. He builds them up and challenges them throughout the books. •
It got me thinking about how thankful I am for the friendships in my life that do that for me. That encourage and strengthen. •
I pray that’s what you find here on this page when you open up your feed, and just wanted to remind you of how much Jesus loves you today! And I challenge you to tag and encourage a friend below! ❤️ In a season of what I’m calling “floating”, it’s so easy to miss all the things of having a house that my little family and I call “home”. •
But today, as I was walking down the hallway to get our laundry down while my baby napped, I thought about how perfectly content I am being here with my Hubby and Baby NOT in a house of our own.
•
The Lord just used that moment to remind my heart that it’s not the things that we have that make our lives full, it’s the constant relationships. And that starts with Him! The Lord is truly Home - a place of safety, rest, comfort, joy. •
I’ve been trying to remind myself of that through this season, and today I’m thankful that for today and always, I can always find “Home” in the Lord. 🏡❤️
