How to Style a White T-Shirt 5 Ways ~Winter Edition~

One of the pieces in my closet I reach for ALL THE TIME is a basic White T-Shirt.  I wear it literally at least once or twice a week.  All year long. SO easy to dress up or down and looks great with whatever accessories I want to throw on that day!

Since I have been reaching for mine so much, I wanted to share 5 Different Ways that you can wear a White T-Shirt in the Winter.  Obviously, you might need an additional coat if you live where it’s truly really cold.  Just as an FYI, it was 70 degress while we were shooting these photos. That’s the South for ya. HA!

I didn’t purchase ANY  new items for this post just so you know! These are all pieces from my closet that I have had for a while now; I just quickly mixed and matched to put these outfits together for y’all!  I hope that this gives you some inspiration on how you can put together a few outfits with things you already have too, even if one of them is just a white t-shirt!

For Brunch/Day Time Plans

day to day 20I honestly wasn’t planning on taking any photos of this outfit, but it is what I threw on to run somewhere before we took these photos, and I liked it so here it is!  Normally for brunch or other daytime plans, I want to look cute, but also be comfy.  Throwing on a pair of heeled booties makes me feel like that! Adding a pop of color or a patterned scarf dresses up the look to me as do the gold hoop earrings I have on!  This is my FAVORITE khaki cardigan right now- I think the length also adds a bit of a dressier element to the outfit. Basically for fun daytime plans, I start casual and dress it up with the accessories!

For Date Night/Girls Night

IMG_1308 (1)I LOVE adding a fun pair of heels, some sparkly jewelry, and some sort of leather to a white-tshirt for date night or a girls night out.  I still feel dressed up, but not too overdressed if we end up going somewhere a little more casual.  Since I added a camel leather jacket, I went with my cheetah heels.  I debated on the front-tuck with the t-shirt here, but decided the length of the shirt with the jacket looked better untucked.  You could go either way depending on what you layer over it though!  Adding a fun belt would be another idea too if you end up tucking in your t-shirt!  Top off your look with a bold lip color and you’re set!

For Errands/Every Day

IMG_1275When I’m running around, 9 times out of 10 I really try to still look pulled together because as my mom says “You never know who you might see!” I don’t really love wearing big heavy coats out places when I’m in and out of my car repeatedly though.  Layering the white t-shirt underneath this cropped light-weight black sweater gave me a little more length to work with and also another layer to keep me a tad warmer.  To add a looser element to the outfit, I threw on a blanket scarf.  I love that I can wear it multiple ways! I’m normally cold inside places, so I love that I can also use it as a literal blanket if need be. haha.  Adding my favorite flat over-the-knee-boots helped me feel trendy, but also still casual.  If I need to go more than about one place, you can catch me in a flat shoe! haha.

For Lazy Days/ Being Comfy at Home

IMG_1295When my Hubs comes home from work, I try to look somewhat put together- aka not still in my pajamas with no make up on. ha!  Most days, these means that I have thrown on leggings and some sort of cozy cardigan with a t-shrit.  I love doing this because if we do end up leaving the house, I can throw on a flat slide or tennis shoe and look like I semi-tried to get ready.  This is also great for Netflix and Chill Days or hanging out at home when you want dressed, but not go over-the-top and waste an outfit on a day you didn’t leave your house! haha!

For Work/Business Events

IMG_1322To me, throwing on some over-the-knee boots with your favorite pencil skirt is a great way to keep your legs warm, but still be dressed appropriately for work in something other than pants when it’s cold!  Adding a fun pop of color and a pattern dresses up your t-shirt enough to be work appropriate!  Between my red blazer and cheetah scarf, you don’t see enough of the t-shirt to even notice that it’s a just t-shirt really! So you’re comfy all day too! Win!

I hope that this inspires you to shop your own closet/ use basic items that you already have to create some new outifts!  What’s your favorite way to style a white-tshirt? Or any t-shirt really? I would love to know, so comment below!
